Ted Hall’s Blues Jam/Church is Austin’s longest running Blues Jam now entering its 16th year. The Jam is hosted by my band "The Blues Machine" . In the beginning the Jam was a vehicle for students from my school, "Austin Guitar School", to get a chance to perform in front of people & also play with a band. Over the years this concept has worked great for the students of AGS & the Jam has become an Austin tradition for many of Austin’s greatest musicians. Through the years, many celebrities have popped in by surprise to play at the jam. To name a few, we have jammed with Steven Stills, Bernard Purdy, Mark Andes (Spirit & Heart), Rubin Ramos, Stu Cooke (Credence Clearwater), Chris James (Bob Dylan’s guitarist), and many more. Not only has the jam provided an outlet for aspiring up & coming musicians to perform in front of an audience, Ted Hall’s Blues Church/Jam has filled a void for many of Austin’s finest musicians to hang out, & play the Blues every Sunday night!
