Keeping Blues LIVE in Austin!
We, at the Austin Blues Society, seek to represent the Past, Present, and Future of Blues music through
EDUCATION in, COMMEMORATION and PRESERVATION of, the rich musical history which
is so prominent here in Austin, and throughout Texas. We honor the many Blues legends that
have graced our stages and support, and promote ALL of our local Blues artists, both veterans and new arrivals.
We serve our community as “Ambassadors of the Blues” and strive to share our love for the
culture through Community Events & Festivals, Hosted Jams & Concert programming, “Blues in the Schools”
programming, Cultural Enrichment, and through the support of other organizations with the same or similar mission.
The Austin Blues Society is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to creating higher
awareness, and a greater appreciation of this historic art form.

If you have been scratching your head, wondering how you can be of
assistance to the ABS during this period of growth and change - have we got
opportunities for you!!
We need help of all kinds as the Austin Blues Society is solely run
by Volunteerism, so if you've got some energy you'd like to share, and you
love Austin and the Blues as much as we do - CLIMB ON BOARD!!!!!
We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds who want to aide in making this
organization the pride of the Austin music scene. Below are listed some of
the areas that we are in need of assistance (some of the needs more
immediate than others) - if you do not see a perfect fit for yourself in
this list at this time, do keep your eyes peeled as there will be many more
opportunities that arise for you to share your talents with us.
ABS Officers (All officers are elected annually):
1 - President: This person MUST have previous experience with running a
board, and working within a 501c3 infrastructure. Also, should be
well-established in the community, preferably in the musical community with
the neutrality necessary to be an un-biased leader. (Immediate need)
1 - Treasurer: This person MUST possess experience in Accounting, General
Bookkeeping, 501c3 financials, A/R, A/P, Collections, and Inventory
Management. (Immediate need)
1 - Secretary: Responsible for checking phone messages & PO Box on a weekly basis.
Keeping minutes at all ABS meetings, printing and publishing for other board members. (Immediate need)
